Our values.

Tiphereth is committed to upholding the human dignity of each individual.

We know that people thrive when they live and work together guided by a higher vision. Tiphereth's higher vision is to create a community in which people with, and without, disabilities can live, work and grow together. We value being a welcoming community, where strong relationships develop. Based on trust, respect and positive regard. We are dedicated to the care and spiritual well-being of everyone in our community. Celebrating differences and nurturing creativity.

We strive to improve ourselves so that we are better able to help others. We do this through conscious effort, self-reflection and being open to reflection from others. We try to overcome interpersonal difficulties for the sake of the greater good.

Our roots.

Camphill is an international movement founded in Scotland in 1940. The founders came to Scotland to escape the threat of war in Europe. They were lead by Austrian paediatrician Karl König and built the principles of Camphill on Rudolf Steiner's educational and social concepts.

Today there are 11 Camphill Communities in Scotland and over 100 in 23 countries worldwide. Each Camphill community is autonomous but works together on shared tasks.

The Camphill name comes from Camphill Estate in Aberdeen. This is where the pioneers opened their first community for children with special needs in 1940. Camphill Estate is now the campus of Camphill School Aberdeen.
