 Tiphereth
strives to create situations where each person has the opportunity to
participate in an activity, which is of benefit to others. Our definition
of work is ‘that which you do for others’. We further believe that Work is the primary vehicle for your personal
growth and development and that these ideas are no less relevant for people
with learning disabilities than for anyone else. Even for people who cannot
work we feel it is important that for part of their day they are involved
in a setting where work is the prevailing mood
and priority. To enable people to achieve this, they are active in small groups under
the guidance of an experienced worker, often with the support of one or
more other co-workers. For those who may benefit from or need intensive
support, an appropriate level of assistance is provided. Tiphereth is part of the CAMPHILL MOVEMENT, which was founded
in 1940 and works to create communities in which vulnerable children and
adults with learning difficulties, can live, learn and work with others
in healthy social relationships based on mutual care and respect. |
